A game of grave concerns. (That’s a pun!)
- Bring Out Yer Dead is first non-licensed product from Upper Deck.
- Available at Origins in June.
- 2-5 players, $50.
Upper Deck is one of the most successful and well-known licensing companies around. Sports, comics, TV shows, movies – they really do it all. They even jumped into the board game world with Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game. Now, the company is doing something really out of character… making a game without a license.
Bring Out Yer Dead is Upper Deck’s first non-licensed product. There’s no movie, sports, or comic book tie-in here. This is an original property. One that sounds an awful lot like Gloom.
Here’s the deal. In the Victorian age, you have the opportunity to become head of a wealthy family. To earn this, though, you’ll need to ensure the current members of the family have the best final resting places. Like I said, sounds kind of like Gloom. That’s where the similarities seem to end.
You’re not trying to kill the family members, just get their bodies into the best plots. You do this by bidding for bodies from the gravedigger’s cart, then trying to get them to the best plots on the board. You can play cards to switch bodies to another grave or even dump them in the river.
Bring Out Yer Dead, a 2-5-player game, will be available at Origins in June. The grave-digging game comes with a double-sided board, 98 cards, 65 wooden coffin tokens, and 5 player crests. All for $50.
