Plaid Hat Games shooting for a GenCon release.
Last week, Chad Hoverter, the sculptor for Mice & Mystics revealed some cool new sculpts showing mice riding birds. He said it was for a “new game,” but what that game might be was unclear at the time.
The box was shown at last week’s New York Toy Fair. And @JayAhre snapped this pic of the cover.
Here’s the scoop, gathered from various sound bytes and comments from several people at Plaid Hat Games.
Tail Feathers is based in the Mice & Mystics universe and is a tactical miniatures skirmish game. Though it includes new figures, it is compatible with characters from Mice & Mystics. The rules are different, but it sounds like the essence of M&M will be there.
Plaid Hat Games is in final play testing to iron out any bugs and to make minor tweaks. The hope is to have Tail Feathers available at GenCon, at the end of July.
Though Tail Feathers is not taking its lead from the X-Wing minis game, it does intend to release a core set followed by numerous expansions. Something commonplace for miniature skirmish games.
Few details exist about Tail Feathers. Its product page doesn’t exist yet on Plaid Hat Games. But it’s coming. Almost certainly this year. And that’s good new for us Mice & Mystics fans.
