More ally and villain packs on the way.
- One new Ally and two Villain packs coming in the fall.
- Adds Wookie Warriors, Hired Guns for the Imperials, and new Stormtroopers.
Star Wars: Imperial Assault is growing thanks to a trio of new ally and villain packs coming this fall. These three are not “named” characters from the Star Wars universe, but generic characters. Ah, but they have one thing that does set them apart from previous packs. These are all new to the game, not merely replacements for tokens that are part of the core set.
The rebels gain the Wookie Warriors Ally Pack featuring a pair of sword-wielding heroes of Kashyyyk. Along with two figures, you’ll gain new Command cards for Skirmish mode and a new side mission for the campaign. In the Brute Force side mission, you’ll assault an Imperial facility on the Wookie home world. Sweet.
The Imperials gain two packs to assist in stopping the rebels. The Hired Guns pack, adds a pair of mercenaries. Also available in the fall is a Stormtroopers villain pack, which honestly seems redundant since there are plenty of Stormtroopers to fight in the core game. However, the pack does add a new side mission. And there’s a powerful new card “To the Last Man” which is played when only one Stormtrooper remains in a group. It gives him a red die for his attacks and a white die for his defense pool. Not bad.
These three packs will come after the release of the first Star Wars: Imperial Assault expansion, Twin Shadows, which introduces some little known side-character named Boba Fett to the campaign.
