The hit Showtime series is turned into a board game.
Gale Force Nine, who’ve been turning all of your favorite shows into board games, announced last year that it was next tackling the Showtime series Homeland. Now we know when Homeland: The Game will arrive in stores. February is your month to tackle this hidden betrayer semi-cooperative game.
In Homeland: The Game, you and up to five of your least-trustworthy friends play CIA analysts, trying to stop terrorists from doing terroristy things. You’ll have to manage CIA resources, place field operatives, and keep an eye on your fellow agents. They seem to have their own agendas and one may be a terrorist mole.
As a video game fan, I know that whenever there’s anything licensed after a TV show, my instinct is to assume it’s terrible. That’s not the case with board games and certainly not with Gale Force Nine. The publisher's previous TV-licensed games Firefly, Spartacus, and Sons of Anarchy are all good games. Though I haven’t tried Homeland yet, GF9’s pedigree suggests this will be a good game.
We’ll all find out this February. Oh, and I was the mole in this article. You never even suspected.
