Thanks a lot, workers trying to get fair compensation for their labor.
A protracted dockworker labor dispute in Los Angeles continues to delay overseas shipments of tabletop games. There are only a few major manufacturers for board games, none of them within the United States.
Many of your favorite games are made in China and shipped to America through the port of Los Angeles. And that’s why so many game companies are being impacted in the U.S. And Fantasy Flight might be getting hit the hardest, simply because it produces so many expansions every quarter.
Today, Fantasy Flight posted expected shipping delays were affecting the release of the following new games/expansions:
- Rogue Squadron cycle for Star Wars: The Card Game
- Edge of the Empire: Fly Casual
- First wave of Imperial Assault Ally Packs and Villain Packs
- The Lost Realm deluxe expansion for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game
- Star Wars: Armada Core Set
- Star Wars: Armada Dice Pack
Fantasy Flight also listed a slew of re-orders that were delayed. It was pretty much anything you might want to buy from Fantasy Flight but can't find at your local game store this afternoon.
There’s no way to know how long any game might be delayed. Shipments are still being processed at the ports along the West Coast, just slowly. Hopefully the dispute won’t last much longer and we can all get back to throwing our money at tons of new games and expansions.
